講師は､イギリス出身で横浜市立大学講師の
長島キャサリンさん。
『 The Guardian Weekly 』とは
英国ロンドンを拠点とする国際的な英語の ニュースマガジン。世界で最も古い国際ニュース出版物の1つであり､
170か国以上に読者がいる。
イギリスの日刊紙「The Guardian」､日曜版「The Observer」､アメリカの日刊紙「The Washington Post」､フランスの日刊紙「Le Monde」より、該当週の主要ニュースを選びダイジェストで伝える。イギリス国内のニュースはもちろん、ヨーロッパやアメリカなどの動向も取り上げる他、社会・経済情勢、スポーツ、レジャー、文化など幅広いジャンルをカバーする。話題の書籍紹介などもあり、充実した内容となっている

This is a course for people who prefer to discuss a specific topic rather than just converse in English.
Participants are free to choose any article from the Guardian Weekly as a catalyst for starting a discussion.
Opposing opinions are welcomed, after an animated discussion we may sometimes agree to disagree.
The emphasis is on communication, not grammar, any level of English is accepted.
